Is HCG the magic pill for weight loss?

Published on May 20th, 2013

Obesity is a very common disorder, shortening the lifespan of millions of people around the world.  In the USA, 65% of the adult population is overweight.  The World Health Organization (WHO) has called obesity an epidemic.  This epidemic now has reached a worldwide proportion, and society faces a problem that will cause more suffering, disease, and death than any other plague over the last 300 years. Individuals who tend to gain weight around the abdomen are at higher risk than people of healthy weight for serious medical conditions such as high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, diabetes, gallbladder disease, and different cancers.

We have all watched many popular diet plans come and go, but a successful diet plan needs to be easy to follow, show rapid and measurable weight loss, and help shed fat, not muscle. It must be safe, and the plan must allow for long-term weight control. Human Chorionic Gonadropin (HCG) is increasingly popular as a weight-loss supplement.

Is HCG the possible key?

HCG is a glycoprotein produced naturally in the human body mostly during pregnancy, first by the embryo itself and then by the placenta (American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1973). In the 1950s A.T.W. Simeon, while studying calorie-deficient pregnant women and Froich’s Syndrome (“fat boys” with pituitary problems), claimed that both lost fat rather than lean muscle tissue if treated with low-dose HCG. He reasoned that HCG must be programming the hypothalamus in pregnant women in order to protect the developing fetus by promoting mobilization and consumption of abnormal, excessive fat stores. While practicing at the Salvador Mundi International Hospital in Rome, Italy, he recommended low-dose daily injections of HG in combination with a customized high protein, low carbohydrate/fat, ultra-low calorie diet. The protocol resulted in the loss of fat without the loss of lean tissue. Simeon published his results, titled Pounds & Inches-A New Approach to Obesity.

What are the side effects?

Because HCG is a prescription medicine, treatment with HCG should be supervised carefully by a healthcare professional. Although reported side-effects are minimal, patients must be monitored. Because many disease are directly related to excess weight, individuals taking other medicines may require dose adjustments as their weight changes.

Moxxor FAQ’s extremely Potent Fish Oil

Published on May 20th, 2013

What makes Moxxor so beneficial?

Moxxor provides unparalleled strength. It is the strongest source for naturally occurring omega-3 complex.

Why is Moxxor different than fish oil?

Moxxor Extreeme Fishoil This complex is superior to plain fish oil because fish oil contains only EPA and DHA. Moxxor contains alleighteen omega-3s which are crucial to maximum health. The impact of this is that an ounce of Moxxor is 158 times more potent than an ounce of fish oil extract. 30 years of clinical show that Moxxor is a new category of omega-3 complex: more powerful than plain fish oil.

What else makes Moxxor special?

Moxxor is the earth’s strongest source of OPC, a super antioxidant. Moxxor is also mercury free. Only good ingredients go into Moxxor.

Where does Moxxor come from?

The Marlborough Sounds region in the south islands of New Zealand offer environmental conditions ideal for unmatched antioxidant potency based on built up resistance to UV radiation due to ozone hole above this region.

How is Moxxor made?

Moxxor is made through a proprietary cold extraction process, which means only Moxxor can be made this way. This special process allows recovery of almost 100% of active ingredients. This means, providing for unparalleled potency.

How does Moxxor work?

The human body ingests both good fats (Omega-3s) and bad fats (Omega-6s). Ingesting Moxxor changes the body’s recurring ratio of good fats to bad fats positively after just 2 to 3 months of regular usage. This means that Moxxor is recalibrating your body’s fat ratio. Taken daily, Moxxor will increase a person’s good fats and lower their bad fats.

For general usage, the first month should have a special loading to help the body build up reserves of Omega 3s. Therefore, 4 capsules every morning for one month is generally recommended. Athletes, take 2 capsules 30-60 minutes before working out, and 2 capsules afterwards to accelerate recovery time. After one month, the dosage may decrease to 2 capsules per day. If discomfort is experienced again, go back up to 3 capsules for a short period.

MOXXOR vs LOVAZA: Potent Fish Oil

Published on May 20th, 2013

moxxor moxor lovaza Fish Oil Moxxor moxorThere are a number of products out on the market today that claim to be natural and produce significant health benefits. One such product, Lovaza, is a fish oil which has been modified through a process called etherification.  This process is somewhat controversial, and the United States is one of the few countries to carry fish oil, which has undergone etherification to be sold.  This process has come under closer scrutiny for a few reasons.

Through marketing, consumers have been told to look for higher EPA and DHA levels when choosing a fish oil. When cod and salmon, common fishes used for fish oil, undergo the etherification process, the amount of EPA

and DHA is synthetically increased. Though this may not seem serious, or perhaps even desirable, the process is actually harmful to the natural ingredients. Etherification is achieved by boiling a fish’s fatty acids, then introducing sodium and salt, and finally skimming the DHA/EPA off the top. This is dangerous because the process actually destroys the good phospholipids and creates triglycerides.

The potential harmful effects might be worthwhile except that clinical trials have proven that there is less benefit from this type of product than from natural fish oils. In Europe, substances which have undergone etherification are considered unfit for human consumption because the body cannot process them well. Despite Lovaza’s claim, the FDA does not promote any of their products. Additionally, Lovaza warns that anyone with sensitivities or allergies to any kind of fish or seafood should refrain from ingesting their product.

Though both make health benefit claims, Moxxor is a very different fish oil product. Instead of etherification, Moxxor uses a special cold technology which allows the mussel oil to retain a perfect balance of all 8 polar Omega-3s. This process also retains the highest level of phospholipids, another important health aid, in its most natural form.

Moxxor, through its careful processing, maintains safe and natural levels in its fish oil. There is no synthetic adulteration of its natural ingredients. Moxxor extracts two forms of omega-3 oils, greenlip mussel oil and deep sea marine oil, from two clean, natural sources. These eco-friendly sources are sustainable and renewable.

In regards to side effects, Lovaza mentions that users may experience burping, infection, flu-like symptoms or an upset stomach. There are no adverse side effects to Moxxor. When it comes to cost, Lovaza often is not covered by insurance. Generally, its retail cost is far more than that of Moxxor.

Better than Chicken Soup: The Link Between Vitamin D and Your Immune System

Published on May 20th, 2013

Consider the winter cold for a moment. During winter, most people cover up and stay indoors. They also tend to get many more colds. These observations seem to finally provide the scientific explanation for the winter cold phenomenon. Vitamin D, the “sunshine vitamin”, has been linked to helping your body fight everything from osteoporosis to cancer. Vitamin D is naturally produced in the skin through exposure to direct sunlight.

Accumulating research is now showing that maintaining sufficient levels of Vitamin D is critical for even the basic immune response which ensures your good health. Vitamin D seems to be the key to activating your immune system. A recent study showed that Vitamin D in the blood actually triggered the immune system’s ‘on switch’. Professor Carsten Geisler, of the Department of International Health, Immunology and Microbiology at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, explained that when T cells are exposed to foreign pathogens, they expose a Vitamin D receptor. If the Vitamin D is not there, the cells, your immune defense, will not function to protect you. T cells, your natural protectors, are dormant until Vitamin D activates them. Only then, do they seek out and kill bacteria and viruses.

Your body needs Vitamin D to combat all infections from common colds to extremes such as Swine Flu. Pf. Geisler explained that his findings, “Will be of particular use when developing new vaccines, which work precisely on the basis of both training our immune systems to react and suppressing the body’s natural defenses in situations where this is important — as is the case with organ transplants and autoimmune disease.” In a world where new diseases are constantly being created, the link between Vitamin D and the immune system is a critical finding.

Another crucial effect of Vitamin D is that sufficient levels of Vitamin D in the blood help balance immune response and prevent inflammation. Over-reaction of the immune system can be as harmful as lack of response.  Sufficient levels of Vitamin D could prevent an over-reaction which might manifest as bacterial pneumonia or rejection of a transplanted organ. Adrian Gombart, a principal investigator with the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University, stated, “The existence and importance of this part of our immune response makes it clear that humans and other primates need to maintain sufficient levels of Vitamin D.” Scientists around the world concur that Vitamin D is essential for your good health. It can be naturally created through regular exposure to sunshine or ingested through supplements or Vitamin D rich foods. However it is received, Vitamin D is vital for good health.

The Link Between Vitamin D and A Healthy Heart

Published on May 20th, 2013

In America, each year more people die of cardiovascular disease (CVD) than cancer. People spend hundreds of dollars in medications and many hours exercising to try and lower their risk of heart disease. However, a basic, essential preventative may be just outside the door. Growing research is showing a link between Vitamin D deficiency and heart disease

Vitamin D is produced in the skin through sun exposure or can be ingested through supplements and Vitamin D rich foods. Although it may seem easy to get enough Vitamin D, many people, due to location, lifestyle, or age factors, become Vitamin D deficient. It now seems this insufficiency can have serious consequences because  studies show Vitamin D deficiency has been associated with cardiovascular issues such as chronic heart failure

Current studies, including the prestigious, long-running Framingham Heart Study, all seem to be suggesting that Vitamin D deficiency is associated with CVD. In turn, this means that Vitamin D therapy could have significant mortality and morbidity benefits in the treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Though more research is necessary for conclusive results, Dr. J. Brent Muhlestein, director of cardiovascular research at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute, says, “Our findings show that vitamin D could have far greater implications in the treatment and reduction of cardiovascular disease and other chronic conditions than we previously thought.” Dr. Muhlestein asserts, “What we did was observational and not definitive, but we think it adds significantly to the story. It’s at least a reasonable piece of evidence to add to the hypothesis that low vitamin D is causative of cardiovascular risk and treatment can reduce cardiovascular disease risk.”

Medical protocol for reducing risk of heart disease is changing as a result of these findings. Dr. Muhlestein, for example, now recommends increasing vitamin D intake by 1000 to 5000 international units (IU) a day, depending on a patient’s health and genetic risk. Recent reports indicate that raising the amount of circulating Vitamin D, in those who are already deficient, can reduce their risk of heart disease by about 30%. In contrast, the Farmingham Heart Study suggested that moderate Vitamin D deficiency could nearly double the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and heart failure over a mean of 5.4 years in patients with high blood pressure. Thus, though adequate levels of Vitamin D cannot guarantee heart health and totally prevent CVD, insufficient levels have a strong adverse effect.  Research continues to discover more details of the link, but the correlation between heart health and sufficient Vitamin D levels has been clearly established.

The Natural Power of Vitamin D

Published on May 20th, 2013

Today you constantly hear about the need to protect your skin from the sun, but you may also have heard that you need some sun exposure. This confusing message is actually based on two different health truths. Too much sun is not good for you, but you need some sun exposure for your body to produce Vitamin D. In 1921, American researcher Elmer McCollum identified Vitamin D when he cured rickets in his dog. Named as such because it was the fourth vitamin McCollum identified, the potential natural power of Vitamin D is still being discovered.

Since the 1960s, scientists have increasingly focused attention on unlocking the significant natural power of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is actually a group of secosteroids which the body uses to fortify and protect itself in many ways. When doctors refer to Vitamin D, though there are many types, they are referring to those most relevant for humans: Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) which are metabolized into critical prehormone. Cutting-edge research has linked adequate levels of Vitamin D to vital processes such as building strong bones, maintaining cardiovascular health, preventing cancer, and instigating weight loss. Found in fortified foods, supplements, and naturally produced by the body, these two forms of Vitamin D play a critical role in human health.

Scientists have found that regularly exposing your bare skin to just ten to fifteen minutes of sunshine is enough for your skin to produce Vitamin D. This, however, may not be possible in cold climates or may not be right or enough for your body. In that case, Vitamin D may be consumed in fortified food such as cereals, breads, yogurt or milk or in its naturally occurring form in foods such as fatty fishes, liver, eggs, or mushrooms.

Your body will use that Vitamin D in almost every part of your body. After being absorbed, your body routes the Vitamin D to your liver where it is metabolized into calcidiol, a prehormone. This calcidiol then goes to the kidneys where it is turned into calcitriol. This calcitriol is essential for maintaining proper blood calcium levels which, in turn, affect the functioning of all the cells in your body. Only if you have adequate levels of Vitamin D will your kidneys have all the calcidiol they need and, in turn, allow your tissues receive any of this important prehormone. While calcitriol is clearly key, exciting research is now showing calcidiol metabolized in the tissues can have huge benefits to the immune system and in optimizing other body functions. So, if you are craving a bit of sun exposure, that just might be your body telling you are lacking adequate levels of Vitamin D. Do yourself a big favor and pay attention by stepping outside or eating a Vitamin D rich fortified food.  You can easily harness the natural power of Vitamin D for better overall health.

Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men and Women

Published on May 20th, 2013

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Sometimes, with both men and women, medical conditions can cause hormonal imbalances. Hormone replacement therapy, or HRT, refers the use of medications containing hormones to treat these conditions and restore a proper hormonal balance. In conjunction with your lab tests and doctor’s recommendations, Fusion Rx compounding pharmacy crafts a unique hormone replacement treatment for each individual patient in order to properly treat each case. These hormones share the chemical makeup of the human body, separating them from the synthetic hormones used in traditional hormone therapy. For those who have not found success with traditional treatments, this tailor-made therapy may be for you.

HRT for Women

HRT is commonly prescribed to menopausal women to supplement the hormones their bodies no longer create. However, women of any age can be affected by hormone imbalance. This treatment is also used as a preventative measure, lowering the risk of a variety of conditions.

There are multiple conditions that HRT is used to prevent or alleviate symptoms of, including:

  • Osteoporosis
  • Coronary Heart Disease
  • Vaginal Dryness
  • Poor Memory
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

HRT for Men with Low Testosterone

Women aren’t alone when it comes to decreased hormone levels. Men too are subject to this phenomenon, with (at times) crippling effects. Men’s testosterone levels reach their peak by their late teens, but by age 30 testosterone begins a slow but continual drop of about 1% each year. Low levels of testosterone can lead to symptoms ranging from increased weight gain to lowered sex drive.

HRT Used to Treat the Following Symptoms in Men:

  • Reduced sex drive
  • Infertility
  • Increase in fatigue
  • Increase in body fat

Weight Loss with HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin)

Published on May 20th, 2013

Have you been struggling to lose weight? Have most diets and supplements left you the same weight and more frustrated? Then, the HCG Diet may be right for you. In 1972, Dr. A.T.W. Simeons published his seminal work, Pounds and Inches, which laid the scientific foundation for today’s cutting edge HGC Diet plan. Dr. Simeons discovered that combining a small dose of HGC (human chorionic gonadotrophin), which is naturally produced during pregnancy with a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) could produce very desirable results. Testimonials have shown that people who closely follow the HCG Diet Plan in conjunction with appropriate doses of HCG lose one to two pounds per day.

Choosing the right HCG Diet Foods is a very important step on your path to weight loss. Your HCG Diet should aim to be composed of 25 percent carbohydrates, 35 percent healthy fats, and 40 percent proteins. With a focus on vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, healthy fats, and fibers, the carefully devised HCG Diet Plan will help you avoid hunger and feel more energized with fewer calories.

Sure, you’ve been on diets before. But, this HCG Diet Plan is designed to support the natural powers of hCG to help your body cleanse itself of excess abnormal fat. There are three kinds of body fat; the first two kinds, structural and reserve, promote healthy body processes. The third kind, abnormal, creates unsightly deposits that the body cannot utilize. Introducing small amounts of natural hCG, available as HCG Diet Shots or as sublingual HCG, allows your body to release and absorb this unhealthy build up. HCG Diet Shots can be administered in a clinic or given in the privacy of your own home. The other option, a specially formulated sublingual HCG, is taken orally.

Disclaimer:  Although HCG is FDA approved for ovulation induction in females as well as for the treatment of hypogonadism in males, it is not approved for its use in weight loss. All of the information provided is based on the work done by doctor A.T.W. Simeons as well as anecdotal evidence from the physicians and patients that are using it successfully. Always discuss any and all treatment options with your primary care physician.

Benefits of Custom Veterinary Compounds

Published on May 20th, 2013

Your pet doctor may prescribe your pet with custom veterinary compounding to treat a number of diseases at once. Much of veterinary care involves use of compounded medications. If you ask your vet, he may tell you there’s never a week wherein he doesn’t use or prescribe compounded meds. This manner of customizing medications is a means of treating pet diseases appropriately and efficiently. One animal’s condition may be different from another. Hence, it should receive the right medications for every disease it’s suffering from.

Mixing different medications and administering them to animals is a common practice in veterinary medicine. In fact, it’s a key practice among pet and animal doctors. There are only few pharmaceutical companies that provide animal medications. Thus, vets are left without recourse in many situations. The solution is to look for a reputable veterinary compounding pharmacy to provide their customized needs in pet care.

Choosing a compounding pharmacy in Southern California is an important aspect in veterinary medicine. Veterinarians don’t just trust anyone. They put their trust on pharmacies based on experience and reputation.

Does the compounder have experience and reputation in offering products with consistent quality? Nine out of ten veterinarians choose partners based on quality and product consistency. Suppliers whose products have consistent effectiveness are regarded highly. This is where reputation comes in, and vets only trust reputable compounders. If they just buy veterinary compounds from anyone and these substances don’t work effectively on pets and animals, they would lose their clients.

The compounding partner should be able to produce medications in different dosage formulations. An adult dog won’t receive the same dosage for a similar disease as a 2-month-old pup. At the same time, veterinary pharmacies should have medicines in different flavors. Many animals are taste-sensitive and will not take medicines that do not taste good.

How fast is the delivery? If you’re making orders online, then you’d have to wait for vet products to be delivered to your clinic. Delivery speed depends on how far the supplier is. If they are located across the country, it may take a few days. It may also depend on other factors, such as the number of orders they are taking and the size of their staff.

So how do you choose the right medication? In many cases, pet owners will have to go to their vets to seek pet care and treatment. The recommended medication may not be right for your pet. Animals sometimes don’t like the taste of medicines, so vets need special flavors for the medicines. In other cases, medications should be administered via injections.

A compounded drug can be given to pets that suffer from stomach discomfort with oral meds. Medicated creams are also a solution. They are applied to the skin of the animal and the medication seeps through the skin and enters its body.

At Fusion RX Compounding Pharmacy, we are committed to treating each of our customers on an individual basis. This means that we provide our customers with individually prepared prescription medications that combine the best materials and the most advanced compounding techniques to accommodate the needs of each customer on a strictly individual basis.
